I am an abstract artist inspired by my background in architecture, a love for narrative, and faith. Concerning the practice of art, I have a deep desire to express the nuanced vulnerabilities of our experiences as humans through painting.
While I have always loved all forms of expression, my earliest memory of personal expression is sketching floorplan diagrams in a spiral-bound notebook in my childhood home. Imagining how one would move through space and how they felt led me to pursue academic studies and a career in interior design, then architecture. After spending 15 years in the design industry, I finally discovered that sitting behind a desk for hours on end left me drained of all creative inspiration. I still had a passion for design, but wanted a more authentic way to create. Enter the pandemic… (read my story here).
My background in architecture as well as my love for narrative encourages me to communicate through the subjects of light, layering, and space to share stories. Watercolor is the perfect medium for this type of expression as it is both ethereal and serene.
With each original painting, I desire to communicate the uniquely beautiful and stirring narratives of our shared experiences.
