What It Looks Like
The bird is firmly settled on a tree branch that is surrounded by a constant, aggressive, and thunderous waterfall on the edge of a mountain. The sound of the waterfall is all-encompassing, compounded by the mountain’s height and the volume of water falling. Nothing else can be heard.

Quiet Assurance
I do believe that we have to move through those murky, less confident phases of our lives to arrive at the next. Just as a photograph captures a moment in time, our work captures not only the subject matter itself but, on a deeper level, the things we are working through, moving through - forever with our eye on the horizon.

Rhythms
While becoming a mother has been both one of the greatest joys and most challenging endeavors in my life so far, it has solidified in me that the idea of the hard, new things that come into our lives will also eventually become a pattern. A rhythm.

With new eyes I have been searching for structure and patterns in my work. Looking for the intuitive gestures that were present well before I knew how to articulate them.

If I could animate it, I would imagine receiving God’s Word is like witnessing a beautifully dynamic kaleidoscope moving and shifting, with colors and shapes aligning and overlapping…
